International Business Women's initiative against HIV and AIDS (BWI)
July 1-7

The Business Women’s Initiative Against HIV and AIDS (BWI) will host its second Leadership Safari from July 1 to 7 in Nairobi.

The week long safari is designed for professional women to learn firsthand about the impact of HIV and AIDS on women and girls in Kenya and to provide assistance to local partners working to address the issue. Through the initiative, business women have opportunities to use their skills, expertise and resources to help make a difference in communities.

The 2007 Leadership Safari includes visits to programmes that address both the immediate care and support needs of people living with HIV, as well as those tackling underlying causes of infection among women and girls. Innovations in ensuring women have economic opportunities, legal protection and access to education are included in the Safari programme, as well as those promoting zero tolerance for violence against women and girls. Safari participants will also connect with other professional women in Kenya at a reception during the IWS designed to promote the role business women can play in the response to HIV and AIDS.
