The Theme reflects the challenges children face in our community; discrimination, poverty, injustice, violence and lack of education. As a women's organization, the World YWCA believes that the empowerment of girls is intrinsically linked to the empowerment of women. We need to focus on children to ensure our future leaders are healthy and strong.

The booklet includes six Bible studies to help guide our work to focus on the needs of children and recognise their value in society, a suggested Order of Worship, and a twelve-month Bible Reading plan. It is an opportunity to use the theme to think about how your work impacts children - particulart girls. It is also an opportunity to engage girls from the communities you work in, affirm their role in society and offer them an opportunity to participate in your programmes
