Within the YWCA family she is a reference for constitutional development and the YWCA history and message. Her leadership is marked by honesty, caring, and impartiality. This has won her respected status within the Middle Eastern YWCA’s as someone to seek for advice; and in issues of misunderstanding or conflict, she is someone who displays great effort to help solve such issues.

Samia has affected others as a truly devoted person to development work. Her writings about issues of justice and peace are circulated all over the world through the newsletter of the National Council of Churches in the USA. Throughout her service at the YWCA, she encouraged young women into the YWCA leadership, some of whom have emerged as well known YWCA leaders throughout the years.

Samia’s vision for young leadership was evident in her term as President of the YWCA of Palestine with 90% of the board members being young women.
