none Development Programmes
With over 100 years of experience in improving the social and economic status of women worldwide, the YWCA has an important role to play in achieving sustainable development. Currently, YWCAs in 40 countries are working for women’s economic justice, world debt, and an equal number of national associations engaged in the delivery of environmental protection and education programmes in their countries.

The World YWCA has been involved in recent global forums on sustainable development and related issues, and is an active member of the Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance, a network of churches and ecumenical organisations working for recognition of the priority of international human rights, social, and environmental agreements over trade agreements and policies.
